This Colorado Beanie Hat totally makes
 me laugh and giggle out loud.
 I love It!
I put the beanie hat on "Skip" to model
 this hat because someone said,
 I mostly use my female model.
I think the hat looks awesome on Skip.
This beanie is great for a man, 
woman, boys and girls.

Materials:
Crochet Hook: I
Yarn: Worsted Weight (4)
3 oz. Blue – C1,
2 oz. White - C2
2 oz. Red – C3
3 oz.  Yellow – C4
2 oz. Brown – C5
Small amount of Black
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc)
Change (chg)

Size: Child: 16-17 inches (S)
         Youth: 18-20 inches (M)
         Adult: 21-22 inches (L)

 Notes:
Rounds are joined with a sl st.
Ch2 does not count as a stitch

Pattern:

Child: 16 - 17 inch head
R: 1 - With C1, ch 3, 10 dc in the 3rd chain from the hook,
 Join with a slst (10dc)
R: 2 - ch 2, 2 dc in each dc, join (20dc)
R: 3 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join (30dc)
R: 4 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dcs*
Repeat From * to * around, join (40dc)
R: 5 - Chg to C2 leaving C1 still attached,
ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dcs*
Repeat from * to * 2 times.
1 dc in each remaining dc around, join (42dc)
R: 6 - ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around, join (42)
R: 7 - Chg to C1, Repeat R: 6
R: 8 – Repeat R: 6, tie off C2
R: 9 – Chg to C5, Repeat R: 6
R: 10 – R: 11 - Repeat R: 6
R: 12 – ch2, *1 dc in the 1st dc, fpdc in the next dc*

Youth: 19 - 20 inch head

Adult: 21-22 inch head

R: 3 - ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in the next dc*

R: 5: ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dcs*
Repeat From * to * around 10 times, join (50dc)
R: 6: ch 2, *2 dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dcs*
Repeat From * to * 10 times, join (60dc)
R: 7 –Chg to C2, ch 2, 1 dc in each dc around, join (60dc)
R: 8 – I dc in each dc, join (60dc)
R: 9 – Chg to C1, Repeat R: 8
R: 10 – Repeat R: 8
R: 11 – Chg to C5, Repeat R: 8
R: 12 – R: 14 – Repeat R: 8
R: 15 – ch2, *1 dc in the 1st dc, fpdc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * around, join, (30dc + 30 fpdc = 60 sts)
R: 16 – Repeat R: 12, tie off and weave in your ends.

Eyes: Make 2
With C2, ch 3, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join in a circle.
Leave a 12 inch tail of yarn to sew on front of hat.

With Black yarn make a French knot in the center of each eye.
Place on front of hat and sew in place.

Snout and Nose
R: 1 - With Black yarn, ch 3, 8 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook.
Join to 1st sc with a slst to form a circle, (8sc)
R: 2 – Chg to C5, 2 sc in each sc, join, ch1 (16sc)
R: 3 – 1 sc in each sc, join, ch1 (16sc)
Tie off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn.

Place on front of hat and sew in place.

Ears: Ears: Make 2
R: 1 - With C5, ch 3, 12 dc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join, ch 3
R: 2 - 2dc in each dc, join and tie off leaving a 12 in tail of yarn.
Sew the ear on the side of the hat, using the tail of yarn.

Colorado appliqué
With C3, Ch 5, 9 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join with a sl st,
(10hdc)
Change to C4, ch 3, 1 sc in the same st, 2 sc in next 7 sc tie off.
Weave in your ends.
Place on front of hat and sew into place with matching yarn.

Pom Pom
With all four colors of yarn, wrap around your four
middle fingers about 25 to 30 times,
With a white 12 inch piece of yarn, slide it through
the bundle of yarn and tie tightly.
Cut the pompom to even it up.
And attach to the top of the hat with the
two long strands of white yarn.
