Yesterday I posted a fun
Summer bucket hat crochet pattern,
you can find it at this link,

I had a few questions concerning
the 6 petal flower pattern.
To help explain it better,
I have make a picture tutorial.

Please Add This Crochet Pattern to Your
Ravelry Favorites.
The Flower Pattern :
R : 1 -With Solid Color - ch 2, 12 dc in the 2nd ch from the hook,\
 join to the ,
R : 2 - *Ch 3, 3 tr, in 1st dc, ch3, sl st in the next dc*,
Repeat 5 more times for 6 petals.
tie off leaving a long tail for sewing on hat.
Sew on Button to the center of the Flower.
With Solid Collar - ch 2, 12 dc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join
Ch 3, 3 tr, in 1st dc,
ch3, sl st in the next dc,
ch 3, (starts the repeat)
Repeat 5 more times for 6 petals.
tie off, weave in your end.
There may be a little gap between
the last petal and the 1st petal.
Thread the tail of the yarn on a needle
 and sew the gap closed.
now choose a button, if you want,
and sew it in the center of the Flower.
The Sparkle Star buttons I found at
Hobby Lobby in the Scrap Booking section.

I hope the pictures help to explain
 the flower pattern better.
This is my favorite flower to use on hats,
bags, dog sweaters and more.

Summer Bucket Hat Crochet Pattern

My Hubby is always getting so sunburned
while working out in the yard.
He loves working on his tractor, but he forgets to wear a hat.
When he does wear a hat, it's a baseball cap,
which lets his neck get so sunburned.

So I made him a Cotton Bucket hat to cover
his head and his neck.
I Liked it so much I decided it needed a
flower so us girls could wear it too.
How to crochet a Summer Bucket Hat - Part 1
See this Video on my Youtube channel at this LINK

Hat Fits a 19 to 20 inches head
It is a loose fitting hat, and very comfy to wear on a warm day.
I chose to make it out of Cotton yarn,
 so it would be cooler,
but you can use any worsted weight (4)yarn,
and the hat will work up just fine.

I have to admit I really like this hat,
and will have to make him another one,
because I am keeping this one!
I have some beige cotton yarn,
beige is more his style anyway.

I did make Maximo a bucket hat too.
He has very sensitive skin,
and actually sunburns on
the top of his head.
If you would like this pattern
it is in my Ravelry Shop
Rosie Wanted to try it on, too.

Bon Bon The Owl UP sized!!

As some of you know, we had a fun Challenge using
I just love these little yarns.
they are so fun and
have lots of fun design possibilities.

Any way, Back to the Challenge.
The winner Was
Heidi Yates of Snappy Tots
With her design,
Bon Bon The Owl
You can find her pattern in her

I thought it would be fun to crochet one
up using a (4) worsted weight yarn.
As the Bon Bon yarns are 2 or 3 weight.
I used  a H hook, and a bright variegated yarn
I already had, for the bottom and the feathers,
I then used a teal for the top and the draw string.
The bag measures
9 inches long and 14 inches around.
Just the perfect size bag for a lunch bag,
small purse or just a fun treasure bag.

You could even slip some batting inside
and have a really fun pillow.
I made mine have silly eyes!
That is why this pattern is so perfect.
It is easy to make with such great results and
the technique for the feathers is unique.
So just because you don't have bon bon yarn,
doesn't mean you cannot make this fun pattern.
So Go For it!

Fat Striped Bag - Purse Crochet Pattern

I love big fat bags to take my projects along with me.

I have just updated this fun bag pattern.
I released the pattern it about 2 years ago
and decided it was time for an update.

This Bag is the perfect shape and size to take to the beach,
pool, picnic, on a trip, or even to the farmers market.

And if you make it from Red Heart Super Saver yarn---
It is washable. So if it gets dirty or full of beach sand,
or wet at the pool, you can wash it!

Please, Add This Crochet Pattern to Your
Ravelry Favorites.
This Crochet pattern is for a huge bag!

It measures approximately 18 X 15 inches,
not including the handles.

It is a big fat bag, and sturdy too.
Stitches up easy, quick and really stylish as well.

The cute little flower is
also included in the pattern.

Skill : Easy

Materials :
Hook : J/10
Yarn : 2 colors of any WW yarn ( C1, C2)
I used Red Heart Super Saver maroon and cream tweed
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Note Ch2 at end of rows does not count as a stitch.

R : 1 - With C1, ch 62, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 hdc in each ch across, turn, ch 2 ( 61 hdc)

R : 5  - Change to C1, leaving C2 attached, 1 hdc in each hdc, ch 2, turn

R : 6 - 1 hdc in each hdc, turn

By leaving the yarn attached and switching back and
forth from the two yarns, you will have a lot less ends to
weave in and a much neater appearance.

R : 7-34 - Repeat R 3-6, tie off after 34

Fold bag in half with the stripes going vertical, with right side facing out,
sc up one side of the bag, tie off, Then sc up the other side, tie off again.
Weave in your ends.

Bag band Opening:

R : 1 - With C1, attach yarn to the top left side edge  of the bag opening,
sc around the putting 2 sc in each "Stripe" around, join, ch

join ch 1

R : 3 - 4  - 1 hdc in each st around, join,

R : 5 - Change to C1, ch2, 1 dc in each hdc around, join, ch 1

R : 6 - 1 sc in each sc, join, tie off, weave in the ends.

Bag handle :

Ch 60 , 1 sc in each ch across, ch 1, turn
sc across row and repeat , tie off and sew on to the sides
of the fat bag securely

6 petal Flower :

With C1, Ch 3, 12 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join,
Change to C2 1 sc in the first hdc, * (1sc, 3 dc, 1sc) in the next  hdc,
1 sc in the next hdc, Repeat from *5 more times for six petals,
tie off and sew on front of Fat Bag.

The Stripes are fun, but you could make this bag
in any color or colors and it would still be a fun big bag!
I think it would be awesome in pink and grey, black and green.
How about camo and take it on a hunting trip?

I hope you will makes some of these.
Feel free to post your pictures
to my facebook page.
I would love to see your bags
 made from this fun pattern.

What Is Memorial Day? And Few Flag Crochet Patterns.

I Love America,
I Love The American Flag
and
I Love The Pledge of Allegiance.
I remember saying it
 every morning in School.
So here are a few Flag Crochet Patterns.
To help us Celebrate
 and Remember that
"Freedom is not Free".

What is Memorial Day?
"Memorial Day is a US federal holiday wherein
the men and women
who died while serving in the
United States Armed Forces are remembered"
Thank you for my Freedom!
I did "tweek" them all,
a little, to add more detail and fun.

I added a Gold Trim
and a Gold Star

I added some gold trim and
a couple of white star buttons.

3. Can Cozie - I striped mine a
little bit different,
and added some
fun Patriotic buttons.

I used 2 strands of Sport weight yarn for
the red, white and blue stripes,
and then did the trim and handle
with worsted weight gold,
added the gold flower
 and a fun button.

This is the star pattern I used.

Spring Flowers Baby Blanket By Carolina Guzman

I was asked by a dear friend to make
a baby blanket for her soon to arrive niece.

I decided to use the pattern written
By Carolina Guzman
Of  One and Two Company.

You can find the Free pattern at this link:

This pattern is written perfectly.
It looks complicated, Bit it is not.
It is worded in such a way, that it is easy as pie.
And there is also chart to follow.

I crocheted the blanket with
It is several shades of purple with a little
bit of pink running through it.
And the yarn is sooooooooooo   soft!

In this Shot, you can really see the flower pattern,
and the colorway of the yarn.

Now I need to block the baby blanket
and then pack it up pretty.

Tuesday Treasury - Unique Crochet Patterns

I called this
"Unique Crochet Patterns"
 because all the items
are designed with different
types of mediums.
Some are made with yarn,
and a unique item designed in.

Others are made completely
by a different type of "yarn".

A list of all the Designers and
links to find the patterns
are listed below.

I Love yarn,
but it is also fun to find unique
and different items to crochet with,
Such as
Tarn, Plarn, Hemp, pop tabs,
cord, cork and jute.
And More.

One of my favorite things to do,
is to walk through a store,
of any kind,
 not just a craft store,
and see if there is anything
that can be crochet with or on.
Keep Calm
and
Crochet on
Everything!
