Crochet Lampshade for my Guestroom

I wanted to Brighten up my Guestroom,
so I bought a new Bed Comforter, Shams
 and Sheets in bright teal!
I made a New Throw - bottom right  -
to match the Teal and Brown them I have going on.

I then decided to make a crochet cover for the lampshade.
I started with circle Granny squares to sort
of mimic the circles on the comforter.
Then I did a decreasing granny stripe.
It fits perfect and I love it.
Maximo and Rosie Bell approve.
The Room still needs some artwork on the wall,
 but I love it.

Neon Chevron Slouchy Hat

I Love Neon colors!
I Love Chevrons!
I love Slouchy Hats!
What Better then a
 Neon Chevron Slouchy hat!
The yarn is the Neon From
I Love This yarn at Hobby Lobby.

This is  NOT my Crochet pattern.
Here is the Link to Crochet pattern I Used:

This pattern fun,
well written and super easy to make.
This one is going to be sent to my Niece
 who loves neon colors.

I did change her pattern, just a little,
in that I made my hat in rows around,
rather then stripes across and sew together.
Both ways work great and make a great hat.

I wear a hat home from the gym,
Because I do Water Aerobics
3 days a week and
  would rather leave with wet
 hair and shower at home.
So I better make one for me too!

I Love This hat!

How to Crochet with Homespun and Similar Yarns.

I have all This "Homespun" type yarn,
and I don't know what to do with it!
I actually really love these yarns, but, many people do not.
FREE Crochet pattern  for the Throw, at the bottom of this post.

A few things I have learned about Crocheting
with this style yarn is :

1. Choose a large project. Most of the variegation can not be seen with a small project.

2. Choose a project with very little detail. Most detail is lost because of the bumpy and fuzziness of the yarn.

3. Crochet loosely - It is better to be too lose then too tight with this type of yarn. It is hard to find the stitches with you crochet too tightly, and just hard to work with if you are a tight stitcher.

4. Lastly, don't let the yarn frustrate you.
If you are struggling with it, set it down and come back later.

Thick and Quick Throw
Measures approximately - 42 X 56 inches
Skill : Easy
Materials :
 Hook - P
Yarn - 4 to 4.5 skeins of Homespun ( 5-6 wt) Colors of your choice.
Stitches:
Chain ( ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Slip Stitch ( sl st)

R : 1 - Ch 57, LOOSELY, turn, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook
and in each ch across, ch 1, turn. (56 sc)
R : 2 - 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn (56 sc)
R : 3 -68  -Repeat R : 2  (56 sc)

Striping pattern is up to you.

R : 69 - At the end  of R : 68, turn working down the end of the throw,
1 sc in the end of each row, ch 1 turn ( 77 sc)
R : 70 -77 - 1 sc in each sc, ch 1 turn, tie off at the end of R : 77 ( 77sc)

Attach yarn to the right corner of the opposite end of the throw, and Repeat R : 69 - 77.

Sl st around all four sides of the throw, this will help the throw keep its shape.

Note: I tried to block this throw, but it didn't work well.
